Getting Started With Your Fish Tank

Adding New Fish

Firstly, avoid extreme temperature variations or prolonged travel time when transporting the fish from the pet shop to your home. Wait at least 28 days before adding any more fish. Never add more than one goldfish or three small shoaling fish at a time. Buying too many fish at a time can kill or at least make them very ill.

Make sure you don't forget to:

• Take fish home immediately after purchasing
• Float the bag of fish in the tank for 15 minutes to allow the water temperature to equalise, then carefully introduce the fish to their new home.

Feeding Fish

Feed the fish at least two hours after they have become acclimatised. It is very important not to overfeed your fish as this is one of the most common mistakes. Feed once a day and only as much as can be consumed in five minutes
